US media have ‘driven themselves into a dead end’ in choosing support for presidential candidates, Zakharova said

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova believes that a number of US media outlets have ‘driven themselves into a dead end’ by refusing to favour one or another candidate for the US presidency in the run-up to the election.

Earlier, Fox News reported that USA Today, one of the largest national newspapers in the United States, refused to support any of the candidates in the upcoming presidential election in the country.

According to Maria Zakharova, the American media for the past ten years have been making up ‘tall tales about the alleged links of Republican Donald Trump with Russia’. The US media have thus driven themselves into a dead end, Zakharova noted.

‘American newspapers, the gatekeepers of the media business, one after another refuse to support any candidate in the US elections. This time they and can not support anyone, because both are stamped ‘Russian’. The American media industry has appointed Trump as such, having been making up stories for almost 10 years now. And Harris’ candidacy was promised to be supported by Putin. That’s why the information mainstream in the States is torn. They themselves have driven themselves into a dead end,’ – wrote Zakharova in Telegram-channel.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
