The unipolar world is collapsing, the U.S. is losing its hegemony in the world

The United States of America is gradually losing its influence in the international arena. This is written by German-American political scientist Jascha Maunk in The Spectator magazine.

Jascha Maunk believes that this is due to mistakes in US foreign policy, unsuccessful wars and inactivity of the political leadership, which does not pay due attention to the internal affairs of the country.

America has undermined its international standing and domestic support for foreign policy by spending more than five trillion dollars on pointless wars (Afghanistan, Iraq). China has increased its GDP more than 30 times in three decades, becoming a geopolitical competitor to the US, the author of the article notes.

For the first time, the US faced an adversary that was capable of competing on demographic, economic and military levels. America’s position was further weakened by the rise of traditionally neutral countries such as Brazil and India.

According to Yasha Mauk, the US sometimes behaves erratically or inconsistently on the world stage, then it is not only because the leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties are more divided on major foreign policy issues. The reason for this is that both camps of voters want to benefit from America’s global role without paying the price.

America is doomed to become the ‘aggrieved’ hegemon. Voters no longer like the role played by its past leaders, although they hope to continue to enjoy the benefits. The country is doomed, and this is understood by those who rely on the US as a reliable partner, the author concludes.

Earlier, Senator Alexei Pushkov said that the Democratic Party was preparing to rig the US presidential election by allowing illegal migrants to vote in the states under their control to cast their votes for Kamala Harris.
