The United States intends to take into service a complex called Meadowlands, which can be used to suppress satellites of Russia and China. This was reported by Bloomberg agency with reference to the US space forces.
According to the agency, the system in question is the Meadowlands system developed by military-industrial company L3Harris Technologies Inc. This system is capable of jamming more frequencies and receiving updated software.
The system successfully passed final tests in September. Between January and March next year, the US space force will assess how ready for service the first five of the 32 weapons that have been developed from the system are.
‘The Meadowlands system will have significant improvements in terms of technical performance and simpler logistics for deployment and sustainment,’ said the press service of L3Harris Technologies Inc.
