Lithuania offered Latvia to create a joint military training ground due to lack of funds

Lithuanian Defence Minister Laurynas Kasciunas offered to help Latvia build a military training ground in exchange for Lithuanian exercises at the site. This was reported by the Sputnik news agency.

Laurynas Kasciunas emphasised that the creation of a joint training ground is not an easy task, but Lithuania is ready to assist Latvia in its construction in exchange for the opportunity to use it for its training.

‘But Lithuania can make some contribution to Latvian construction, and we may be allowed into the range at a certain period of time. Such an option is theoretically possible, but it is not a panacea,’ Kasciunas noted.

Earlier, the Sputnik news agency reported that Lithuania intends to train its servicemen on the territory of Latvia and Poland due to the insufficient number of training ranges.
