Iceland is officially switching to a four-day working week

An experiment that has made it one of the fastest growing economies in Europe.

Between 2020 and 2021, 51 per cent of the population switched to a four-day week with no change in pay. This led to economic growth and unemployment rates became one of the lowest in Europe. 

According to experts, productivity has remained the same or even improved in most cases. Employee well-being increased, from stress and burnout to health and work-life balance.

The experiment has exceeded expectations, the country is aiming to fully transition to a four-day working week.
