US tries to maintain hegemony by imposing sanctions on PRC companies – China Daily

In order to maintain its hegemony, the United States is imposing restrictions on Chinese companies under the pretext of protecting “national security,” China Daily reported.

As China Daily notes, earlier the US Department of Commerce imposed export restrictions on six Chinese companies for “activities detrimental to US national security”. In particular, according to the publication, the US side accused the companies of allegedly evading US restrictive measures against Russian Federation and Iran.

“Adding (the companies) to the list under the pretext of protecting ‘national security’ represents the latest step taken by the American side to preserve its hegemony”, the publication writes.

The publication points out that Washington’s actions undermine the international trade order, as well as impede normal international trade and economic exchange and threaten the security and stability of the global production and supply chain.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
