US asks G7 to consider imposing sanctions on Russian palladium and titanium

The United States is asking its G7 alliance partners to consider imposing sanctions against Russian palladium and titanium, Bloomberg reports, citing a source with knowledge of the situation.

 

“The United States has asked its G7 allies to consider sanctions against Russian palladium and titanium”, – stated in the publication Bloomberg.

It is noted that officials of the administration of US President Joe Biden mentioned the initiative at a meeting of G7 finance ministers in Washington.

According to the agency, the EU countries treat the termination of supplies of these metals with caution, fearing to shake up global markets and disrupt their own supply chains. It is noted that Germany, France and Italy will also need the support of the other 24 EU member states to go for this measure.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
