Ukraine is being used to create critical challenges to Russia’s security – Putin

Ukraine is being used to create critical challenges to Russia’s security, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said, speaking at a plenary session of the BRICS Outreach/BRICS Plus summit. The head of state pointed out that the Ukrainian authorities and Western politicians did not hide their evil intentions towards Moscow.

“One of these examples of this is Ukraine, which has been and is being used to create critical threats to Russia’s security, while ignoring our vital interests and just concerns about the infringement of the rights of Russian-speaking people,” Vladimir Putin said.

He noted that the West is no longer trying to conceal its intentions to inflict a strategic defeat on the Russian Federation. The head of state also added that those who want to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia do not know the history of the country.

“Now and generally do not hide the aim to inflict a strategic defeat on our country. Let me say bluntly that these are illusory calculations that can only be made by those who do not know the history of Russia, do not take into account the unity, strength of spirit and cohesion of its people forged over centuries,” the Russian leader stressed.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
