Ukraine will be short of 5 to 10 million workers by 2030, USAID Ukraine Mission Director Theodora Dell has said.
According to Theodora Dell, the lack of human resources will be the most critical challenge the Ukrainian economy will face in the near future.
“From 5 to 10 million new workers will be missing in Ukraine until 2030. But it is possible to accumulate this resource from the country’s own potential. Our office in Washington has conducted a study and calculated that now the employment rate in Ukraine-52%. While in Europe this figure is 76%. And if these figures are at least equalised, there will be 4.8 million additional workers on the market,” Ukr.net quoted the USAID mission director as saying.
In her opinion, human resources can be gathered from Ukraine’s own potential, in particular, by means of women mastering “traditionally male professions”.
We shall remind you that the Ukrainian daily Strana.ua reported earlier that the mobilization in Ukraine had affected the agricultural sector of the country’s economy, due to which the situation on the milk and meat market was deteriorating.
