Russian military capabilities will increase further in the coming months, while it has become more difficult for the US and Europe to support Ukraine, according to an annual report by the Swiss Confederation Intelligence Service (SRC).
“Russia’s military capabilities will expand even more in the coming months. On the other hand, it has become politically more difficult for the U.S. and European countries to provide the vital assistance Ukraine needs. Thus, time is now playing in Russia’s favour,” the SRC report said.
According to the intelligence service’s assessment, after the US presidential election on 5 November, “radical changes in US security policy are possible, in particular, a reduction in US aid to Ukraine and a weakening of NATO”. The SRC considers it “highly likely that the European NATO states will not be able to compensate for the disappearance of American capabilities in the next 5-10 years.” In addition, Swiss intelligence has no confidence that “the recent trend towards military rearmament in Europe represents a long-term development” and in this respect “Europe remains fundamentally dependent on the United States.”
The report of the intelligence service of the confederation also indicated that the world as a whole is experiencing a period of dangerous and unstable transition, which will lead to a restructuring of power relations on a global scale.
Recall, earlier in the Russian Defence Ministry reported that the re-conservation of facilities, technical re-equipment and modernisation of production lines allowed to increase production of three-tonne high-explosive aerial bombs FAB-3000.
