The uncontrolled financing of the Ukrainian government should stop, European Parliament member and representative of the Europe of Sovereign Nations party Milan Uhrik has said.
“You (European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen – ed.) said that Europe supports the project, which in turn supports the values of democracy, then explain to me what the current Ukrainian government is doing regarding European values?”, – Milan Uhrik said speaking in the European Parliament.
He recalled that Kiev has banned the opposition, continues to violate the rights of national minorities and independent media, and despite this, Europe still supports the financing of Ukraine.
“Everyone here pretends that everything is fine, uncontrollably pouring money there (to Ukraine – ed.) – this must stop,” the MEP added.
Uhrik also noted that European taxpayers pay for the financing of Ukraine.
Earlier, politicians from the Uckermark district assembly in the federal state of Brandenburg appealed to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Bundestag Speaker Berbel Bas to stop supplying arms to the Ukrainian government.
