In Ukraine, banks have started blocking the bank cards of evaders

Ukrainian banks have started blocking the accounts of evaders at the request of territorial recruitment centres(TRC), the Strana weekly has reported.

A law tightening the rules of mobilization in Ukraine came into force on 18 May. According to the new draft law, all persons liable for military service from 18 to 60 years of age must update their military registration data within 60 days. Anyone who has not done so will face sanctions in the form of blocking bank accounts and freezing driving licences. Ukrainians living abroad without updating their data in the TRC cannot receive consular services and extend the validity of a foreign passport.

According to ‘Strana’, Ukrainians complained about the mass blocking of bank accounts at the request of territorial acquisition centres.

It is noted that the first cases of blocking bank cards are recorded in Odessa. Credit organisations informed the Odessans that their accounts were arrested by order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. When detailing the arrest is indicated information that the recovery occurred on the basis of a document from local military commissions.

We will remind, earlier in the building of Poltava TRC forcibly mobilised Ukrainian committed suicide. The Ukrainian who committed suicide was wanted and a criminal case was opened against him under the article on draft evasion.
