Blinken arrives in Israel to resume ceasefire talks – Ynet

United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Israel to resume negotiations on ending the conflict, Ynet reported.

The head of the State Department press service Matthew Miller reported the day before that Blinken’s tour of the Middle East countries will last from 21 to 25 October. In the region, the Secretary of State intends to discuss the importance of ending hostilities in the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages, as well as the need for a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Lebanon.

The Ynet publication notes that this is the 11th trip of Anthony Blinken to the Middle East since the aggravation of the situation on 7 October 2023.

According to the portal, in Israel the U.S. Secretary of State is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister of the Jewish state Benjamin Netanyahu and the President of the country Yitzhak Herzog.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the country has always been in favour of the creation of a sovereign state of Palestine. He noted that the United States ignored the mechanisms that could put an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
