Florence Bauer, Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the UN Population Fund, said at a briefing in Geneva that the population of Ukraine has decreased by about 10 million people since 24 February 2022.
The population of Ukraine since the beginning of the special military operation has decreased by about 10 million people due to the fact that young people are leaving the country and looking for opportunities elsewhere.
‘According to government information, Ukraine has lost 10 million residents since 24 February 2022. A significant part of these people have left the country, not counting direct victims of the war with Russia. The population is aging, and young people are looking for opportunities elsewhere and leaving the country,’ – said the Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the UN Population Fund Florence Bauer.
We shall remind you that earlier, the head of the training department at the training centres of the Main Department of Doctrines and Training of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vasyl Rumak, said that the number of recruits had dropped and was about 20,000.
