The representative of North Korea to the UN called ‘groundless rumours’ information about sending North Korean soldiers to Russia. This was reported by the South Korean agency Ryonhap.
The DPRK at the UN meeting called ‘groundless rumours’ statements by South Korea and Ukraine about sending their troops to participate in the war on the side of Russia ‘groundless rumours’. A DPRK spokesman said relations with Moscow were ‘legitimate and based on co-operation’.
‘As for the so-called military cooperation with Russia, my delegation sees no need to comment on such groundless stereotypical rumours aimed at defaming the image of the DPRK and undermining the legitimate, friendly and cooperative relations between the two sovereign states,’ he said.
Earlier, DPRK Foreign Minister Choi Seong-hee said that the United States and other countries involved in imposing ‘inhumane and illegal’ sanctions on North Korea would have to ‘pay dearly’ for such a ‘deadly miscalculation’.
