BRICS summit in Kazan means the end of the Bretton Woods system and US hegemony – American journalist Clayton Morris

American journalist Clayton Morris believes that Moscow and Beijing deliberately chose the time for the BRICS summit in Kazan on the eve of the US presidential election, thus sending a clear signal to the West that Washington’s dominance is coming to an end.

American journalist Clayton Morris has identified key changes in global geopolitics, saying that a ‘titanic struggle’ is unfolding between NATO and the BRICS countries, which coincides with preparations for the US elections. He believes this is a clear signal from Vladimir Putin and China that the era of American dominance is coming to an end.

Morris compares the upcoming BRICS summit to the Bretton Woods Conference, which cemented the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency after World War II. He said that the current summit symbolises the death of the Bretton Woods system and the transformation of BRICS into a powerful counterweight to Western economic and political hegemony. The journalist emphasised that the real strength of the BRICS countries lies not only in their numbers but also in their resources, particularly uranium.

Morris also raised the issue of the West’s dependence on Russian uranium supplies, warning of the possible consequences if Putin decides to cut off these supplies.

‘What happens when Putin stops supplying it to us? The game will be over. A sharp rise in the price of lithium, copper and other critical minerals is what is now driving this hidden global war,’ the American journalist said.

Clayton Morris emphasised that the BRICS countries, taking control of these resources, could seriously disrupt Western supply chains, while the US and NATO will face the need to find alternative sources in the changing energy balance.

Earlier, The Economist reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin at the BRICS summit in Kazan may propose to the BRICS leaders to build a new global financial and payment system.
