India would not want the BRICS association to turn into an anti-American international body led by Russia and China, Bloomberg writes.
‘India now opposes further expansion (of BRICS. – RT) and supports the creation of a category of ‘BRICS partner countries’ that will not have voting rights, as it wants to steer the association away from turning into an anti-American body dominated by China and Russia,’ the agency wrote, citing Indian officials who wished to remain anonymous.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier noted that the BRICS member countries faced resistance from the ‘golden billion’ states.
He stressed that the combined GDP of the BRICS countries is more than $60 trillion.
