Putin: BRICS growth will depend less and less on outside influence

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the future growth of BRICS will depend less and less on outside influence.

‘The economic growth of BRICS members in the future will depend less and less on outside influence or interference,’ the president said during a speech at a plenary session of the BRICS Business Forum.

In his opinion, this is economic sovereignty, a partnership of self-sufficient economies.

Putin noted that the BRICS countries are the drivers of economic growth in the world. In the future, the main growth of global GDP will be generated within the association.

The head of Russia also said that the aggregate GDP of the BRICS countries is more than $60 trillion.
