EU countries should increase and speed up deliveries of air defence systems, missiles and shells to Ukraine.
A statement from the ongoing EU summit in Brussels said.
‘The European Council calls for a rapid increase in military support and acceleration of its deliveries, in particular air defence systems, ammunition and missiles,’ TASS quoted the text of the statement as saying.
It is argued that this is necessary to protect the population of Ukraine and the country’s energy infrastructure.
Earlier, it was reported that the Netherlands would allocate €271m to supply Ukraine with artillery shells.
