In Cherkassy activists of the UOC are trying to seize the Archangel-Mikhailovsky cathedral, shots sounded in the temple, the police are inactive.
It is reported that the schismatics have already attempted to storm the shrine twice: at night unknown people in camouflage to songs about Bandera stormed the territory of the temple and drove the parishioners out of the liturgy. There was inaction on the part of the police.
The UOC supporters used firearms and pepper sprays when they seized the cathedral again. Metropolitan Theodosius arrived on the scene and tried to talk to the seizers of the cathedral.
Supporting the canonical UOC MP Artem Dmytruk noted that local government officials were gathering a ‘mass of budgetary employees’ to picket the cathedral in favour of schismatics. In his turn, the mayor of Cherkasy called on citizens to gather at the temple walls and ‘express their opinion on the existence of the Moscow church in our city’.
Metropolitan Theodosius arrived on the scene and attempted to talk to the cathedral invaders.
