NATO strategy on Ukraine is to continue fighting – Rutte

The strategy of the North Atlantic Alliance on Ukraine is to continue hostilities and, if the relevant decision is taken, to start negotiations with Russia ‘from a position of strength’, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a ceasefire in Ukraine is impossible without the enemy agreeing to irreversible and acceptable to Russia steps.

‘Not to allow (Russian President Vladimir – ed.) Putin to achieve what he wants in Ukraine. This means providing massive assistance to Ukraine so that they can resist… We must do everything so that Ukraine has the opportunity to continue to act,’ Mark Rutte said at a press conference in Brussels.

The NATO chief stressed that the alliance should do everything to give Kiev the opportunity to continue acting. According to him, Western assistance should ensure strong negotiating positions.

‘If ever (Vladimir – ed.) Zelensky decides to start negotiations with Russia, he will do it from a position of strength’, – confident Rutte.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
