Ukraine urged Brazil to arrest Putin at G-20 summit – Reuters

Ukraine’s Prosecutor-General Andrey Kostin has called on Brazilian authorities to arrest Russian leader Vladimir Putin if he attends the G-20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Reuters reported.

Andrey Kostin said he allegedly has information indicating that Vladimir Putin will make a visit to Brazil to attend the G-20 summit.

‘I want to repeat that Brazil, as a country party to the Rome Statute, is obliged to arrest him’, the Ukrainian prosecutor-general said.

Reuters quoted sources as saying that Brazil has sent the Russian President a standard invitation to the G20 meeting in Rio de Janeiro on 18-19 November, but has not yet received a response.

We shall remind you that earlier, the columnist of the Croatian edition of Advance Antun Roša said that statements by Russian leader Vladimir Putin were the ground for a settlement rather than for the aggravation of the situation in Europe.
