The Israeli minister called for the expansion of his state ‘all the way to Damascus’

The head of the Israeli Finance Ministry, Bezalel Smotrich, said in an interview with Arte TV that he wants to expand the country’s borders beyond the Jordan River to Damascus, realising the concept of a ‘Greater Israel’.

Bezalel Smotrich said in an interview with Arte TV that Israel will expand ‘little by little’ and will eventually encompass all the Palestinian territories as well as Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

‘I want a Jewish state. A state that is governed according to the values of the Jewish people. It is written that the future of Jerusalem is to expand to Damascus. And it is only Jerusalem to Damascus,’ Smotrich noted.

The Arte TV documentary ‘Israel: extremists in power’ mentions that the minister considers the Jewish state as a territory that covers not only Palestinian lands, but also certain parts of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

We shall remind you that earlier the Human Right Watch human rights organisation reported on the use of white phosphorus by the Israeli army in Lebanon and Gaza.
