Bundestag deputy Dagdelen called Scholz a ‘Vassal of the United States’

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz acted as a ‘US vassal’ in the deployment of US missiles on German territory, Bundestag MP Sevim Dagdelen of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice group told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung newspaper.

According to Sevim Dagdelen, Olaf Scholz acted as a ‘vassal chancellor’ in the issue of US missile deployment in Germany.

‘The decision is made by Washington, the risk is borne by the German population. Chancellor Scholz thereby leaves Germany’s security interests at the mercy of the US administration. The German government can neither prove the alleged defence gap nor have the right to express its opinion on the issue of using weapons to attack Russia,’ the MP said.

Left Party MP Dietmar Barsch said at a Bundestag hearing that the German chancellor announced the intention to deploy US missiles against Russia in Germany without holding a public debate or informing parliament.

‘This is monstrous, ladies and gentlemen. Such a far-reaching security policy decision requires serious debate. It is often claimed in the debate that the deployment of intermediate-range missiles is somehow linked to the war in Ukraine. This is, frankly, a big stretch. The deployment is based on a concept developed in 2017, that is, five years before the Russian army invaded Ukraine in violation of international law. One has nothing to do with the other,’ – said Barsh.

We will remind, earlier the former adviser to the Minister of defence in the administration of former US President Donald Trump, retired Colonel Douglas McGregor said that over the past twenty years, aggressive foreign policy has been damaging to the United States itself.
