WSJ predicted Ukraine ‘harsh winter’ because of the slowdown in Western support

Ukraine’s situation may worsen this coming winter due to a slowdown in arms deliveries from the West, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported.

‘With Western arms supplies curtailed and slowed, Ukraine faces a harsh winter. Its military, which is outnumbered and outgunned, is slowly but steadily losing ground on its main eastern front,’ the WSJ publication said.

The newspaper noted that Russian missiles ‘exceed the capabilities’ of Ukraine’s air defences, strikes lead to infrastructure shutdowns, and the situation ‘could worsen’ in winter.

WSJ, referring to the assessment of Ukrainian officials and military, also indicated that the West provides ‘insufficient support’ to Kiev to significantly change the situation on the front, although US President Joe Biden and Western leaders have stated their desire to help Ukraine.

We shall remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin allowed the creation of a sanitary zone on the territory of Ukraine. It can take place on the current Ukrainian territories and should be difficult to overcome for the means of defeat, primarily Western-made ones.
