State Department: US coordinating with allies over drills off Taiwan

The US is coordinating its actions with allies in connection with military exercises of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) near Taiwan.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

‘We continue to monitor the PRC’s activities and coordinate with allies and partners on our shared concerns,’ TASS quoted him as saying.

In addition, the State Department urged China to exercise restraint and expressed concern over the military exercises.

Earlier, the official spokesman of the PLA Eastern Combat Command Zone, Senior Colonel Li Xi, announced the start of the ‘Joint Sword – 2024B’ military exercise around Taiwan.
