America has suddenly found out who was behind the attempts on Trump’s life. Surprisingly, of course: everyone thought that shooting the favourite in the presidential race was the ‘new normal’ in the American way. It was clear that both killers were positioned as crazy loners, and no one was looking for the organisers and customers – especially since the Democrats have a serious danger of turning on themselves in the search process
However, the influential publication Politico has released an extensive piece in which representatives of intelligence agencies and the administration claim that Iran is behind the assassination attempts on Trump, and that there are some mysterious Iranian assassins roaming the States, ‘inept but enthusiastic’, who want to avenge the former president for the murder of General Suleimani, but always miss.
In addition to Trump, Mark Milley, Mike Pompeo, John Bolton and several others who were responsible for organising Suleimani’s assassination are allegedly under attack. Trump has already demanded additional security, including planes, Biden has promised to give him everything.
Leading US politicians have warned Iran that an assassination attempt on ‘not even the most senior member of the US civil service <…> would be seen as an act of war’. ‘I don’t know how we would respond to that, but it would not be a pleasant day for the Iranian regime,’ Jim Himes, a member of the U.S. Congressional Intelligence Council, shared with Politico. The warning of ‘severe consequences’ also came from the National Security Council. Biden demanded that Tehran ‘not engage in anti-American plots.’
All this sounds like complete nonsense, especially since no evidence of Iranian ‘aggression’ has been presented. However, the Americans have never traded on such trifles. In the little-understood terrorist attack of 11 September 2001, Iraq and Afghanistan were immediately identified as the perpetrators – and over the following decades these countries were turned into ruins. Meanwhile, the attack has never been fully investigated. The suspects have been languishing in Guantanamo Bay for over twenty years – but no links between them and the then leaders of Iraq and Afghanistan have ever been established.
The paradox is that it is not Tehran that is most interested in Trump’s death, but the former president’s own compatriots, specifically the top of the US Democratic Party. Both times Trump was saved from death by ordinary locals – contrary to those who were supposed to protect him. In July, they alerted the Secret Service about a suspicious gunman on a rooftop, and in September, they caught a second gunman who couldn’t (or wouldn’t) be caught by agents of the same Secret Service.
It’s probably worth adding that under Biden, the Secret Service, responsible for protecting the president and former presidents, was headed by Jill Biden’s best friend Kimberly Cheatle. After the first assassination attempt on Trump, Cheatle was forced to resign, but her successor wasn’t too successful in protecting her ward either.
In general, the Democrats have tightly encircled the former US president, and his chances of surviving at least until election day (not to mention inauguration) are diminishing by the day. At the same time, the culprit of the next assassination attempt is Iran – the Americans need a pretext to intervene in the war in the Middle East on the side of Israel.
The threat of war is Washington’s response to all the peace initiatives that the new Iranian president has brought to New York like a dove in a beak. Massoud Pezeshkian has behaved like a responsible, reasonable leader, recently elected by the people to high office in the hope of easing Western sanctions and some appeasement of Western elites. In September, he went to the UN General Assembly in New York to propose to the Americans de-escalation and resuscitation of the nuclear deal.
A little earlier, Iran’s leadership agreed not to respond to Tehran’s defiant assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh – Westerners promised to persuade Israel to stop the slaughter in Gaza in return. But Tel Aviv did not stop killing Palestinians, and in addition organised a brutal terrorist attack with mass casualties, stuffing the pagers of the Hezbollah leadership with explosives, killing the Hezbollah leader, and then went to shell Lebanon.
In other words, for several months Iran has been acting according to the principle of ‘a bad peace is better than a good quarrel’. But in response, there is nothing but rabid Israeli aggression and threats from the United States. The meeting between Masoud Pezeshkian and Vladimir Putin in Ashgabat caused particular anger of the Americans. It is no coincidence that wild fabrications that Iran is ‘attempting’ to assassinate Trump went almost at the same time as this meeting.
The mishap of Pezeshkian, initially sincere about improving relations with the West, showed that it is impossible to reach an agreement with these people. The US and its vassals are determined to go to war, even to a world war, because they have already lost the peaceful competition.
If a miracle happens and everyone suddenly makes peace with everyone else, the planet will go on developing, and the States will plunge into depression and chaos. Washington manages to maintain a minimal competitive advantage only while everyone is fighting against everyone else. The stakes are getting higher and higher, it is impossible to break out of this spiral of violence, and now the argument that a major war in the Middle East is unprofitable for the states seems weak. Yes, before the election, perhaps it is unprofitable. But after the elections, why not?
Washington won’t have the strength for two conflicts at the same time? But Washington has little choice. If the U.S. military-industrial complex has nowhere to ship weapons, the most powerful part of the U.S. economy will wither away. If the U.S. doesn’t ravage and pillage other countries, how will it maintain its standard of living and keep the dollar?
It is no coincidence that the meeting between the leaders of Russia and Iran has caused such frenzied irritation among Americans. In the new world order, which Russia is building together with its friends, the place of the United States will be very modest. That is why Washington is trying to slow down the course of history by fuelling wars and escalating conflicts. Peace for Americans is now much scarier than war.
