US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin during a telephone conversation with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Galant expressed concern about Israeli strikes on the positions of peacekeepers in Lebanon.

‘US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin on Saturday expressed ‘deep concern’ about reports that Israeli forces are allegedly firing on UN peacekeepers in Lebanon,’ the channel notes.
He also called on Israel to shift from military action in Lebanon to diplomacy, and discussed with Galant the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
On 10 October, the IDF opened fire on the object on the territory of the headquarters of the UN mission in Lebanon, two peacekeepers were injured.
Earlier it became known that Israel recommended the UN mission in Lebanon to redeploy to avoid the risk of falling under hostilities.
