Ukraine is negotiating with France on a new model of cooperation, which implies joint production of weapons on the territory of the former Soviet republic. This was reported by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday, 12 October.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken about the possible expansion of cooperation with France and the creation of new joint production facilities for French weapons in Ukraine.
“Now in France we talked about a new model of interaction – the creation of joint Ukrainian-French production facilities in our state. The Danish model is already working, when the governments of the partner states attract investments in the production of weapons, and we consider the new French model as an opportunity to attract investments in the creation of exactly new productions,” the Ukrainian politician said in his Telegram channel.
According to him, this model of cooperation is being worked out at the level of ministries.
Earlier, the Politico newspaper reported that the French authorities suggested that the EU and the European Parliament should tighten control over the €35bn granted to Ukraine from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets.
