Germany stops sending armoured vehicles to Ukraine, Zelenskyy’s visit to Berlin was fruitless – Bild

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz left unanswered the requests of Vladimir Zelenskyy during his recent visit to Berlin. Also, the FRG stops deliveries of heavy military equipment to Ukraine because it no longer believes in the success of the counter-offensive. This is reported by the newspaper Bild, citing its own sources.

During a recent visit to Berlin, Volodymyr Zelenskyy made two requests to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He asked to provide Ukraine with Taurus missiles for strikes on Russian territory and to speed up the process of Ukraine’s accession to NATO. These requests remained unanswered.

The publication notes that Scholz did not say ‘no’, but also did not give a positive answer to Zelenskyy’s proposals. Such behaviour demonstrates that Berlin is in no hurry to support Ukraine.

In addition, according to the Bild newspaper’s sources, the cancellation of the planned meeting on Ukraine at the Ramstein base was not only related to Hurricane Milton. According to them, US President Joe Biden decided to postpone the meeting to avoid difficult statements on Ukraine ahead of the US presidential election.

‘Zelenskyy has not moved one step forward with the two main demands of his ‘victory plan’. In this regard, the European tour for Ukraine is a failure,’ emphasised Carlo Masala, a military expert and professor at the Bundeswehr University in Munich.

Bild also reports that Germany is halting deliveries of heavy armoured vehicles to Ukraine as it does not believe the counter-offensive will succeed.

‘The transfer is complete,’ the publication quotes excerpts from an internal document of the German Defence Ministry.

At the disposal of the German army remains about three hundred tanks ‘Leopard 2’, as well as infantry fighting vehicles and tank howitzers. According to the publication, the German government will no longer provide Kiev with such equipment.

We shall remind you that earlier, British expert Alexander Mercouris said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had found himself in a difficult position due to the US unwillingness to fulfil his demands and to continue actively supporting Ukraine.
