London has not changed its stance on its willingness to lift a ban on British Storm Shadow missiles striking deep inside Russian Federation for Kiev following a meeting between the country’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, The Independent reported, citing an unnamed spokesman for Starmer’s office.
“A spokesman for the Prime Minister (Keir Starmer – ed.) said the position on Storm Shadow missiles had not changed despite the meeting with Zelenskyy,” The Independent reported.
A press release from the British prime minister’s office said that following the meeting, Starmer and Zelensky agreed on the need to ensure that Ukraine is in the “best possible position” ahead of winter and the difficulties associated with it. Sarmer’s spokesman said Britain was keen to strengthen Ukraine but emphasised that “no war has ever been won with a single weapon”.
During his visit to London, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also met NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. When asked about providing Ukraine with long-range weapons, Rutte said that this issue had been discussed, but the final decision rests with each individual ally.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the direct involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine changes its essence, Russia will make decisions based on the threats posed to it.
