The Investigative Committee has opened a case against a Georgian mercenary who invaded the Kursk Region

Military investigators have opened a criminal case on suspicion of murdering residents of Kursk Region and other crimes against Georgian mercenary Georgy Kesareli, the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee said.

 

“Georgian citizen Giorgi Kesareli is suspected (in absentia) of committing a terrorist act, mercenarism, murder and attempted murder of two or more persons, as well as persons carrying out official activities, committed by an organised group in a generally dangerous manner on the grounds of political and ideological hatred, illegal crossing of the state border, attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer, use of violence against a representative of the authorities, as well as committing a number of other crimes,” the report reads.

According to the investigation, Kesareli has been recruiting, training and financing mercenaries to participate in the armed conflict on the territory of Russia for a long time. In addition, he personally participates in combat operations as a mercenary.

Kesareli and other representatives of mercenary groups with representatives of the AFU in late August 2024 illegally crossed the border of the Russian Federation and entered the Kursk region, and committed on its territory criminal acts aimed at intimidating the local population and causing property damage.

“At present, the investigation is taking measures to establish the location of the figure and his accomplices”, – concluded in the Department.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
