House Speaker Johnson says he doesn’t want to fund Ukraine

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson has spoken out against further funding for Ukraine and is counting on a victory in the presidential election for Donald Trump’s running mate.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargoes that contain weapons for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia. He said the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries.

“I have no appetite for further funding for Ukraine, and I hope it won’t be necessary. If President Trump wins, I believe he can actually end the conflict. I think he will call (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and say, enough is enough. And I think everybody in the world is tired of it and wants it resolved,” Mike Johnson told Punchbowl.

He expressed confidence that should Democrat Kamala Harris become President of the United States, the conflict would not end.

“And this is a desperate and dangerous scenario”, – said Johnson.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
