Ukrainian nationalists are shooting residents of the Kursk Region, but the West is silent, Russian Ambassador to the Netherlands Vladimir Tarabrin, Russia’s ambassador to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), has said.
“Ukrainian nationalists in chevrons and helmets of the Third Reich times shoot, abuse and take captive residents of the Kursk region. But the West is silent, because “the right to life does not apply to Russians”, – said Vladimir Tarabrin, speaking at the session of the executive council.
He recalled that in Ukraine men are kidnapped in the streets and sent to the front, and those who try to escape are shot while crossing the border, but the Western allies of the former Soviet republic continue to remain silent. Moreover, when the Kiev authorities refused to hold presidential elections, violating the country’s constitution, the West again remained silent, the post added.
“At the same time, there are calls for Ukraine’s early accession to the EU and NATO. Hence the conclusion – this is the kind of Ukraine that fully meets Western standards of democracy,” the diplomat summarised.
Earlier, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, proposed a Russian version of a “peace formula” for Ukraine. He said that Kiev, after admitting defeat, would also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
