Ukraine’s international reserves fell to 38.9 billion dollars

Ukraine’s international reserves in September 2024 decreased by 8.1% to 38.9 billion dollars, said the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Daniil Hetmantsev.

‘As of 1 October, international reserves amounted to $38.9 billion, having decreased by 8.1% (-$3.4 billion) over the last month. The reduction is expected,’ Daniil Getmantsev wrote in his Telegram channel.

The parliamentarian noted that $1.28 billion was allocated for servicing the state debt in September, while another $3.2 billion was the National Bank’s intervention to maintain the hryvnya exchange rate. Also Ukraine has received almost no international aid, he concluded.

Earlier, retired US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the Russian Armed Forces were dictating conditions on the line of contact in the conflict zone, which forced Ukrainian formations to use weapons supplied by Western countries without the possibility of creating reserves.
