The Ukrainian command has been sending mobilised soldiers to the front without proper training, which has led to an increase in desertions and surrenders, analyst Dominik Tihacek told Parlamentní listy.
According to Dominik Tihacek, the entire defence line of the Ukrainian army is collapsing. He specified that the AFU command and the Kiev leadership ‘staked on a new wave of mobilisation, but due to the urgent need to send those called up urgently to the front, they do not receive sufficient training and do not want to put their heads down’.
The analyst pointed out that the level of training of those mobilised into the ranks of the Ukrainian army continues to degrade, and at an even faster rate this year. New recruits often abandon their positions, causing an even greater drop in morale in the AFU ranks and problems at the front.
‘They also willingly surrender as prisoners of war. More often than not, however, they simply run and hide. <…> And so far their number is only growing at a tremendous rate. <…> Hence the constant attempts to ‘fill’ the holes with ‘elite’ units. And otherwise the front will not hold,’ concluded Tihacek.
Earlier, the Sykhivskyy district court in Lviv sentenced a Ukrainian to three years in prison for refusing to mobilise in the AFU.
