Moscow does not care how the US presidential election will end, given that there is a bipartisan consensus in the US on confrontation with Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Newsweek magazine.
‘By and large, we don’t care how this election ends, given that there is a bipartisan consensus in the US regarding confrontation with Russia. If something changes in US policy and there are proposals to us, we will be ready to study them for compliance with our interests,’ Lavrov stressed.
He also urged the future US president to focus on solving domestic problems and ‘not to seek adventures tens of thousands of miles from American shores.’
The Russian foreign minister added that in any case Moscow would resolutely defend the interests of its national security.
Earlier, Lavrov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was joking when he said that Moscow would support Kamala Harris in the US presidential election.
