European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel said that the conflict in Ukraine would have ended in 15 days without Western assistance to the Ukrainian government.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that the direct involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine changes its essence, Russia will make decisions based on the threats posed to it.
‘Many people want the war to end as soon as possible… If we stop supporting Ukraine, in fifteen days the war will be over and (Vladimir – ed.) Putin will have achieved his goals,’ Josep Borrell told 20 Minutos.
The EU diplomatic chief added that such a scenario is unacceptable for European countries, as the conflict in Ukraine is allegedly related to the security of Europeans.
Earlier, Borrell said that Russia’s defeat in the Ukrainian conflict was in the interests of the United States and Europe. Before that, he urged Kiev’s allies to allow the Ukrainian army to hit airports and missile sites on Russian territory with Western weapons. According to him, Kiev should strike ‘a blow to the archers, not just arrows’.
We shall remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the creation of Russian year-round sea resorts that Russia would solve all the tasks of the special military operation in Ukraine, as well as the issues of ensuring security in the new regions.
