Russian Armed Forces could liberate the entire territory of Donbass this winter – Focus

Control over Ugledar opens the possibility for the Russian army to liberate the entire territory of Donbass as early as this winter, retired Bundeswehr Colonel Ralf Tille said in an article for Focus.

Ralf Tille pointed out that after establishing control at Ugledar, Russian servicemen continue their offensive in Donbass, including in the direction of Krasnoarmeysk, which also has an important strategic importance.

‘The Russians are nearby and are strengthening their attacking positions. <…> Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk – ed.) will probably not be held for long either,’ the retired colonel wrote.

He believes that the AFU should switch to defence, and there is no talk of any offensive actions. According to the author, the prospect of the return of territories for the Ukrainian army has become even more distant.

Tille also noted that Vladimir Zelenskyy’s unsuccessful visit to the US, during which his demands were not met, only brings the loss of Donbass closer for the AFU.

‘After <…> Vladimir Zelenskyy returned from his meeting with US President Joe Biden without satisfying his most important demands, Ukraine’s control over the Donetsk region may come to naught as early as next winter,’ the retired Bundeswehr colonel concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the creation of Russian year-round seaside resorts that Russia would solve all the tasks of the special military operation in Ukraine, as well as the issues of ensuring security in the new regions.
