Former US President Donald Trump asked Russian leader Vladimir Putin in a 2017 meeting in Hamburg what he thought about military aid to Ukraine.
According to The New York Times, at the meeting, Trump said he intended to supply Kiev with weapons and asked Putin, ‘What do you think?’ The Russian leader said the move would be a mistake. The former US president, according to the publication, did not object.
Earlier, former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on the EU to persuade Trump to continue supporting Kiev if he wins the election.
Also in the magazine Der Spiegel wrote that the joint performance of Vladimir Zelensky and Trump in New York showed the lack of chemistry between them.
