Russia to mirror US nuclear tests – Ryabkov

Russia will respond in a mirror-like manner to the processes of resuming nuclear tests by the US, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on RT TV channel.

“If processes begin that would mean that the US is looking in the direction of resuming nuclear tests, we will not be “rusty” behind us. Russia will immediately respond in a mirror-like manner,” Sergei Ryabkov said on RT TV channel.

Also in 2023, the deputy foreign minister commented on Russia’s withdrawal of ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. According to him, Moscow has “run out of patience.”

“We have waited 23 years, the point has been set. What will happen next is an open question. The answer to it fully depends on the line that will be pursued by the United States and its allies,” he pointed out.

Earlier, the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that, according to the new nuclear doctrine, an attack by any non-nuclear-weapon state with the support of a nuclear-armed country on Russia would be regarded as a “joint attack on Russia.”
