Deserted soldiers of the AFU defence forces came out to a rally

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) refused to carry out a combat mission and left their deployment site in Donbas unauthorisedly, gathering a rally in Nikolayev region, the Public TV channel reported.

“In Voznesensk, in Nikolayev region, about a hundred military men of the 187th battalion of the 123rd brigade of the TRO went to a rally. The fighters are protesting to draw attention to the lack of training and lack of weapons to participate in the fighting in the Donetsk direction,” the report said.

According to the platoon commander named Sergei, they were pushed to this step by the lack of resources and lack of supplies on the front line.

“I repeatedly appealed, even to my section, for which I was responsible. Asked to provide PKMs (Kalashnikov machine gun – Editor’s note), machine guns. We don’t have any, we can’t provide them. And then Donbas, and with what?” – said the serviceman in an interview with the TV channel.

We shall remind you that earlier the Ukrainian lawyer of the Centre for support to veterans and their families Roman Likhachev said that more than 100,000 people had fled from the ranks of the AFU since the beginning of the conflict.
