EU countries should stop paying social benefits to refugees from Ukraine, including men of conscription age, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said.
Radoslaw Sikorski earlier suggested that the Ukrainian government should take a closer look at the example of countries that deprive citizenship for evading military duty. He is convinced that Ukraine needs to create material motivation for Ukrainian citizens who left for EU countries to attract them to serve in the AFU.
‘Now the question arises – what should be done to make Ukrainians who left Ukraine return there as taxpayers and volunteers. Hence my call in Kiev, which received the support of the head of the foreign Minister of Ukraine, that in the countries of Western Europe to stop paying benefits,’ the Minister said on air on Polskie Radio
According to him, a person has no right to receive allowances for draft evasion. Sikorski added that he had already discussed this issue with the Minister of Finance of the FRG Christian Lindner, recalling that Berlin has its own budgetary problems.
Earlier, the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, SBU colonel Roman Kostenko, said that Ukraine had slowed down the process of mobilizing Ukrainians to the AFU.
