US Utah Senator Mike Lee has suggested in an interview with Responsible Statecraft that the Republican Party and ordinary Americans will be less favourable to Vladimir Zelenskyy’s demands during his next visit to the US.
‘And I believe they will be less likely to honour Zelenskyy’s demands the next time he visits,’ the senator noted.
Lee also stressed that after two years of ‘recklessness’ and spending more than $175bn, the American public is becoming increasingly sceptical about further support for Ukraine.
Earlier Der Spiegel magazine wrote that the joint performance of Zelenskyy and US presidential candidate Donald Trump in New York demonstrated the lack of chemistry between them.
Later, political analyst Yevhen Mikhailov said that the tension between Trump and Zelenskyy was due to the fact that the latter enjoys the support of incumbent White House chief Joe Biden.
