The Netherlands has decommissioned old F-16 fighter jets that will get a “new life” in Ukraine, the country’s Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans said on Friday, September 27.
“The farewell flight of the iconic F-16 took place in the Netherlands. After 45 years of faithful service and many missions, the aircraft will get a new life in Ukraine and Romania,” Ruben Brekelmans wrote on social network X.
The aircraft flew at an altitude of at least 400 m over such places as the training ground on the island of Vlieland, Susterberg airbase and the building of the Ministry of defence in The Hague, the official pointed out.
We shall remind you that the Times earlier reported that Ukraine had received six F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands.
