SCMP: China and Brazil set to revive plan to resolve Ukraine conflict

China and Brazil plan to promote their plan for a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine conflict on the margins of the SMO General Assembly.

According to the South China Morning Post, the countries intend to organise a meeting on Friday, September 27.

According to the newspaper, at least 20 countries have agreed to attend the meeting. However, there will be no representatives of the United States and the European Union.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s delegation said it was seeking to ‘lay the groundwork for a peace conference.’

In August, it was reported that the approach of China and Brazil to resolving the Ukrainian conflict was supported by South Africa. The initiative has already received positive responses from more than 110 countries.

Earlier, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, the Brazilian president called for direct dialogue to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
