WP: Ukraine failed to persuade the US to lift restrictions on strikes on Russia

Ukraine has failed to provide the US with a convincing argument for lifting restrictions on US weapons strikes deep into Russian territory.

The Washington Post quoted its sources as saying.

It is noted that representatives of the White House and the Pentagon “did not hear convincing arguments” from the Ukrainian authorities that the lifting of the restrictions would affect the situation in Kiev’s favour.

In addition, the publication’s sources noted the limited stockpile of long-range missiles and the high risk of escalation in the event that restrictions on strikes deep into Russian territory were lifted.

Earlier, the leader of the British Heritage Party, David Curtin, expressed the opinion that the UK would become a party to the Ukrainian conflict if Kiev received permission to strike Russia with Storm Shadow missiles.
