US should focus on the Middle East – McGregor

The United States needs to focus its attention and resources on the Lebanon military operation and the war in the Middle East rather than on the Ukrainian conflict, former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor said in a conversation with Norwegian political analyst Glenn Diesen.

‘I think the conflict in the Middle East is a much greater danger to us right now than what’s happening in Ukraine,’ Douglas McGregor said.

According to the expert, the possibility of massive hostilities in the Middle East is a real problem that the U.S. really needs to worry about. In addition, the West may soon finally lose interest in military support for Ukraine.

‘The situation could change if the Ukrainians suddenly do something incredibly stupid against our instructions, but if that doesn’t happen, I think the war in Ukraine has a good chance of ending by the end of this year, given various other developments like political changes in Europe, the changing situation in Ukraine and the advance of Russian troops,’ the former military officer suggested.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, showing their essence in the form of ‘hypocrisy, double standards and claims’.
