The President of the United States Joe Biden after the visit of Vladimir Zelenskyy to the White House with a high probability will not give Ukraine permission to strike deep into the territory of Russia. This was reported by the Times newspaper, citing an unnamed source.
‘Biden (after his meeting with Zelenskyy. – ed.) is unlikely to announce whether he will authorise Ukraine to use long-range missiles, including British Storm Shadow missiles, on Russian territory,’ the report said.
An unnamed diplomat from a NATO member state, speaking to the newspaper, emphasised that such a decision would be made jointly by London and Washington. At the same time, the Times emphasised that even with a positive outcome for Kiev on this issue, it is unlikely to ‘change the course of the conflict’.
Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister and Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said that Rome, despite the European Parliament’s resolution calling on Ukraine to allow Western weapons strikes deep into Russian territory, remained at the same position.
