The US ambassador ruled out the appearance of permanent military bases in Finland

The US ambassador to Finland, Douglas Hickey, has said that he sees no prospect of permanent military bases appearing on the territory of the country.

The diplomat noted that military exercises between the two countries will still continue.

“I do not see conditions for the appearance of permanent American military bases in Finland, but there will be joint exercises,” Douglas Hickey said in an interview with Ilta-Sanomat newspaper.

We will remind, earlier the Finnish public broadcaster Yle named the cities of the country, in which it is planned to place several headquarters of the land forces of the North Atlantic Alliance.
